We recently assisted a client who was struggling with their pneumatic air piping and pneumatic quick connect fittings.
The problem was constant air leaks and the pipes turning brittle under the blazing Rustenburg sun. They also had the unique need to visually inspect if the air supplying their critical process equipment contains dust particles or water droplets.
Luckily, we could assist quickly with a SMC solution, consisting of pneumatic process fittings in our SMC One-touch KQ2 Series, and 2 types of pneumatic polyurethane tubing in our SMC TU Range. With an operating temperature of -20 to +60 degrees, the tubing is designed to handle air and water, has a high flexibility ratio and can be used in narrow or wide-open spaces with ease.
THE RESULT?
The engineering teams can now visually inspect the pneumatic air within the tubing to identify critical issues that need to be resolved. Thanks to the quick seal on all pneumatic fittings, the loss of crucial plant and process air has been minimised dramatically.
