Introducing the PROXXI Voltage Band

In 2025, Lasrust is setting new standards for safety, both in terms of personal protection and equipment. We are excited to announce our partnership with PROXXI Voltage Bands in Canada to introduce and distribute their innovative technology in the South African market.

What is the PROXXI Voltage Band?

This innovative device serves as an additional monitoring device during the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedure, providing real-time feedback on live electricity and voltage. It also offers data collection capabilities, enabling informed safety decisions based on accurate data gathered throughout daily tasks and LOTO procedures.

The PROXXI Voltage band has three main alert methods:

#2 Audible alert

# Vibrating alert

Users have full control over the band, to mute and select voltage ranges for different applications and/or tasks.

Dimensions: 262mm x 32.5mm x 12.5mm (max wrist size: 247mm)

How Does It Communicate?

The wristband operates independently but can communicate with the PROXXI Voltage mobile app via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The wristband cannot connect to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) and does not initiate BLE communication on its own. It is powered by a 200mAh lithium-polymer battery, which charges wirelessly. The wristband does not have a USB or other connection port, and the wireless charger only uses USB for power.

The mobile app connects to the wristband via BLE and transmits the collected data to PROXXI’s servers using the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile data) for data collection (see Data Collection below). The app also allows users to adjust wristband settings, such as alert preferences and muting options, but does not require an internet connection for these adjustments.

While the wristband can be used without a mobile device, the user will be unable to modify settings, except for limited alert muting, which can be done directly from the wristband.

Now, What About Data Collection?

The wristband only records information related to its usage, alerts, and assignment:

Alert type (initial or high alert for proximity to energized devices)
Date and time of an alert
Reading of the intensity of the electric field at time of alert
Alert range (480V, 5kV, etc. – selected from the mobile app)
Configured voltage frequency of the wristband (50 or 60Hz)
Wristband status (active, charge, mute, etc) and start/end times of the status
Battery charge level over time
Firmware version and date/time it was updated
Identifying wristband details (wristband ID, MAC address, and serial number)
User of wristband (as entered by the user into the mobile app)
Organisational group the wristband is assigned to (as selected by the organisation)

Please note: The wristband does not track any health data or location information and does not contain the necessary hardware to do so (no GPS, etc).
