DETECTING HOT SPOTS BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE

Give yourself some Grace with 24/7 hot spot monitoring

Electrical failures rarely happen without warning – the signs are just easy to miss. The Grace HSM (Hot Spot Monitor) is designed to catch those warning signs early, by continuously monitoring temperature at critical electrical connections.

Instead of relying on periodic inspections or inaccessible infrared scans, HSM keeps watch around the clock, identifying hot spots before they turn into failures, shutdowns, or costly downtime.

Current flowing through electrical connections – lugs, terminals, breaker stabs, and busbar joints – is one of the most common causes of electrical hot spots. Add fluctuating loads or high harmonics, and the risk increases further.

Many of these problem areas sit deep inside equipment, out of reach for infrared thermography.

That’s where HSM comes in.

Grace HSM uses non-conductive fibre temperature probes that securely piggy-back onto existing bolted connections. These probes can be installed on known heat-risk points such as busbars, breaker connections, transformers and bus ducts, without introducing electrical risk.

The system works on any voltage level, making it suitable across low, medium, and high-voltage environments.

Simple to install, easy to integrate

The HSM module mounts neatly on DIN rail inside the low-voltage or control compartment. Fibre probes are attached to existing bolted connections at known heat points, then routed back to the module. From there, users can configure thresholds, monitoring intervals and alarms, either locally or across the plant network.
